IFCPP Advisory Board Member in the News

Mike Kirchner, CPP, CIPM, CIPI is Director of Security for Harvard Art Museum, a member of the IFCPP Advisory Board, and Education Coordinator for IFCPP.  He also serves on the board of the New England Chapter of IFCPP.  Mike is a Vietnam Vet, an officer of Kiwanis, and a former police chief.   He served two tours in Vietnam as an Air Force intelligence specialist.  In March of this year, along with representatives from Children of Peace International, Mike will travel to Vietnam as part of a medical missionary group to participate in a special program intended to improve the lives of Vietnamese children.  On this trip, Mike will be responsible for helping to set up facilities and equipment for clinics and providing crowd control.  Mike’s whole professional career has been about providing service, and this is certainly an extension in that direction.  As an officer of Kiwanis, Mike was introduced to Binh Rybacki, founder of the group, who fled Vietnam in 1976.  She suggested to Mike that it’s time for him to go back, and he agreed.  To read more about this story, go to www.berkshireeagle.com/ci/14255977.

We wish Mike every success in his travels, and look forward to hearing all about his travels upon his safe return.  Mike has been reviewing program proposals and topical material for our 2010 conference.  He will continue his prime role on the planning team for each of our educational programs.
